    UltraSwingArm Multi fit Shimmy

My overalll experience with the UltraSwing Hitch carrier really should have a 3 hole hitch pull pin adjustability. It has 2. When tightening the swing arm down inside of the receiver by Anti-Wobble or “wobNut" (by long threw bolt) the hitch carrier moves upward and over (at 45 degrees) moving towards the rear bumper eventually pushing into the bumper. To correct this issue I had to place shims under the WobNot. Also placing shims between the hitch inserting arm (Top) and receiver to prevent the hitch from reaching the bumper. Note: as the hitch rises in the rear (tire side) the receiver end (WobNot) of the hitch moves down. Lastly is placement of shims on the side of the hitch (leading into the receiver) to minimize the side movement. Keep in mind I am trying to element the metal to metal bumping noise when driving, normal street driving. Next was I found I needed to element some rattle nose that I thought to be coming from the pin that is suppled to securely lock-in the swing arm. Only part of the problem not all of the rattle. Come to find out that it is the hardware inside the hitch arm meaning the mechanism that locks and unlocks the swing arm. Nothing I can really do about that however it was a big decrease in noise removing the pin. Currently I am living with the rattling having to explain what the noise is to everyone then I turn up the music and roll the windows down. My opinion if RiDid really cared about top notch quality they should, could do just a little more engineering, just a little bit more because its great looking and usable addition. Heck I make great improvements but 95% of my issues could have been eliminated with a third hole, 3 holds to get the swing arm just another ….inch away from the bumper. Its going to be very interesting to see what happens on my next Overland adventure if I will have to remove it anytime during the trip or not.

Luke does a great job explaining options on YouTube and the customer service between emails and phone were spot on. Only surprise was needing to borrow my neighbor's 6" socket extension in addition to mine in order to reach and adjust the wedge mount that inserts into the receiver.

    A Problem...Solved!!

I started looking for a spare tire carrier in the various forms -- full bumper, roof rack attachments, hitch mounted. This particular one by RIGd checked off all the boxes and met my needs. Rock Solid and well made yet saves weight over a full bumper, mounting options for accessories, secondary hitch spot for my bike rack, no wobble. Its almost as if I was part of the team and all my input was engineered into the final design. Could not be more satisfied, they thought of everything!

Zero wobble, amazing construction, great power coating finish. It's not cheap, but you get what you paid for.
