I met Devin at a local bike park in SoCal about a year ago. He was just about to uproot from his home in the Central Coast of California and head to a new job and new community up in Idaho with DEITY Components.
Devin is one of those chill guys who seem pretty nonchalant about their riding until you follow them for the first time. Within the first turn you’ll realize, oh this dude is on another level.
Devin is of a breed that still embraces all forms of bike. In an era of specialization into one discipline of riding. Devin can be found lining up at a Gravel race one weekend and an Enduro the next, riding BMX, XC, and everything else in between.
Devin’s rig of choice for traveling to races and events is a 2022 Chevy ZR2 Colorado. When asked “why not a van like every other racer?” Devin said: “off-road capability”. He explained that camping and off-roading is half the fun of being in these cool areas where races happen to be. He’d rather get past the typical paved pull-out sites and often crowded areas right off the fire road and create a remote campsite to enjoy with friends.
Heading into the land flowing with new trails and endless backcountry camp zones, it was only fitting that Devin was ready to get a RambleRack® and RambleSwing™ to keep up with this new landscape.
Looking ahead into this year, it’s no secret that much of the bike industry has been forced to cut budgets for racers and events. Seeing the opportunity in this season, with the space created by having less race commitments, Devin is making plans for some epic camping and riding trips.
