Top 3 Questions of Overland Expo West 2025

May 21, 2025 3 min read

After a few year hiatus to focus on the other Overland Expo locations, Overland Expo West 2025 was a great homecoming. We connected with hundreds of y’all with all sorts of different rigs and vibes. As usual, there were lots of great questions. And while we got lots of very unique setup requests, these three kept rising to the top.

Let’s break down the Top 3 Questions of Overland Expo West—straight from the booth.

1. Can I Swing a Moto?

Yes. No. Maybe.

For years, we said don’t even think about it. But with the launch of the RambleSwing™ Pro, the answer’s finally: maybe you can.

We’ve tested and rated the RambleSwing Pro for use with the PAKMULE® MOTOMULE™, and here's why it’s the only setup we currently sign off on:

  • Custom Fitment: We partnered directly with PAKMULE to dial in a shortened hitch length—optimized to bring the moto in tight while still leaving room for jerry cans or accessories on the HitchingPost™.
  • Weight: The MOTOMULE itself only weighs 62 lbs, which helps keep total load manageable.
  • Bike Security: Dual-point tie-downs—via the handlebars or fork crown and foot pegs—minimize whip and keep the bike rock solid, even off-road.

Approved for one motorcycle up to 250 lbs (wet).

⚠️ But hold up: Before twisting the throttle and pinning it through checkout, check your vehicle’s tongue weight capacity.
RambleSwing Pro + MOTOMULE extends 24"–30" and requires a Class IV or higher hitch.
A good rule of thumb: reduce tongue capacity by 50% per 12" of extension.
Always verify your vehicle’s hitch specs before running this setup.

2. What’s the Difference Between an UltraSwing and a RambleSwing Pro?

Both are burly and highly adaptable swing-out systems—but they serve different types of user experiences. Here's a quick breakdown:

Need Go With
Carry a full-size spare tire UltraSwing®
Haul a vertical bike rack (up to 150 lbs) RambleSwing® Pro
Keep your hitch open for towing/recovery UltraSwing®
Add fuel/water/bikes but keep your tire stock-mounted RambleSwing® Pro
Remove gear easily for daily driving RambleSwing® Pro
Swing out 350 lbs of gear RambleSwing® Pro
Swing up to 250 lbs including spare + gear UltraSwing®

Conclusion:

If you’re tire-focused and hitch-reliant—go UltraSwing.
If you’re building a gear-hauling setup with bikes, storage, and modular flexibility—go RambleSwing Pro.
